Now in its seventh year, the TxN 20 program spotlights the most innovative and impactful conservation work emerging from businesses across the Lone Star State. The TxN 20 program honors companies across 12 major industries, including energy, agriculture, manufacturing, technology, transportation, and more. Texas is home to over 171 million acres of land and holds global leadership in multiple industries. Selection Process and Evaluation
The 2025 TxN 20 honorees were selected through a rigorous evaluation process that combined company-submitted data with independent research on more than 2,000 publicly traded and private companies operating in Texas. These companies represented 12 key industry sectors integral to the state’s economy and environment.
Using a 17-point scoring system, evaluators assessed each company’s conservation performance and innovation. The selection criteria included:
- Demonstrated commitment to conservation and sustainability
- Quantifiable metrics on conservation impact
- Measured investment in conservation initiatives
- Documented Return on Conservation™ results
- Positive impact on land, water, wildlife, people, energy, waste, and operations
- Conservation-oriented practices across infrastructure, supply chains, and employee engagement
The process narrowed the pool to the top 60 companies, which were then reviewed by an esteemed selection committee composed of Texas business and conservation leaders. The final 23 honorees were chosen based on their measurable environmental results, innovative strategies, and ability to inspire cross-sector collaboration.
